Ten Podcasts Every CMO Should Be Listening ToIt’s no joke: CMOs have more and more marketing changes, news and trends to learn about. Luckily, there are more ways than ever to find helpful insight about new trends. Besides all of the articles, webinars, eBooks, online courses available, marketers now add podcasts to their growing list of helpful resources.

While podcasting has been around for more than 10 years, there’s been a surge in the last few years – especially after the unprecedented success of season one of Serial. But with billions of podcasts downloaded, it may be daunting to find the right one to help you improve your knowledge or advance your career.

We’re using our own new podcast, Marketers Count, to find and share stories about modern marketers who are radically transforming business.

Here’s our list of the top 10 podcasts B2B marketers should be listening to — the podcasts we turn to for inspiration.

  1. The B2B Marketing Leaders Podcast
Created with B2B marketers in mind, Jeff Zelaya interviews CMOs, marketing directors and other leading executives about the future of marketing, emerging trends and marketing successes and failures. Each podcast includes interviews with new guests, so you get different perspectives and ideas for your own marketing work.
  2. The Growth Show
Interested in growing a company, a movement, an idea, or a team? Check out “The Growth Show.” Each week HubSpot sits down with someone who has achieved remarkable growth and dives into all the details of how it happened.
  3. Six Pixels of Separation
This podcast is hosted by Mitch Joel, dubbed the “Rock Star of Digital Marketing” by Marketing Magazine. He covers opportunities digital marketers need to take advantage of in our always-on world.
  4. The Marketing Companion Podcast
Mark Schaefer and Tom Webster proclaim this is the “world’s most entertaining marketing podcast” with “insights and ideas to turn up your marketing intellect to an ‘11’.” Weekly podcasts look at what’s next in marketing, and Mark and Tom also provide fresh takes and insights on new research and other hot marketing topics.
  5. Start Some Shift
Started by Lara McCulloch, “Start Some Shift” is a bi-weekly podcast dedicated to helping companies build growth, reputation and evangelism. Hear experts talk about how to boost your Google ranking, powerful techniques to overcome prospects’ objections, and how make your social content move people.
  6. Ramp
Host Cara Hogan interviews thought leaders, sales experts and data analysts to understand how analytics can ramp up your business.
  7. I Love Marketing
Dean Jackson and Joe Polish dish on every new marketing idea – including direct mail, lead generation, lead conversion, getting referrals, email marketing, psychology and much more.
  8. The UnPodcast Series
Scott Stratten and Alison Kramer filter out all the bad advice and misinformation to discuss what you really need to do to succeed in business marketing. Hear real-life examples along with tips and guidance on marketing and branding, networking (in person and online), PR and customer service.
  9. The Honest Marketer
From the minds at Funnel Cake, leading marketers from companies including Uberflip, Vidyard, Miovision and others share their experiences tackling modern marketing challenges.
  10. The Slack Variety Pack
From the Slack team, a fresh and fun “podcast about work, and the people and teams who do amazing work together.” I like that these podcasts are a mix of stories on creativity and innovation. As marketers, it’s helpful to keep pushing ourselves to think in new and different ways.
